What is an anagram?

An anagram rearranges the letters of a word or phrase. This English anagram solver finds single words using every letter you enter, exactly as many times as you entered it. LISTEN, SILENT and TINSEL share the same six letters. Repeated letters matter: a word needing two Es cannot be made from a rack with only one E unless you add a blank.

How to use the anagram solver

1. Enter 2–15 letters in any order. Uppercase and lowercase work the same way.
2. Use ? for an unknown letter or blank tile. Each ? counts as one letter, with a maximum of two blanks.
3. Select “Find anagrams”. Every result uses the full set of letters and appears in alphabetical order. Your original word may appear too if it is in the dictionary.

Try LISTEN, STONE or STAR?. STAR? must contain S, T, A and R plus one letter supplied by the blank. That letter is underlined in the results.

Anagram solver or word unscrambler?

If you need a word using all your letters, use this page. To unscramble letters into shorter words as well, open our English word finder. It shows Wordfeud tile points and lets you add a consecutive sequence already on the board. A link beneath your anagram results carries your letters across automatically.

This tool returns single-word anagrams, not phrases or sentences. Spaces are ignored: “L I S T E N” is treated as LISTEN. Hyphens are reserved for board sequences in the main Wordfeud finder and are not supported here. The tool does not solve crossword clues or supply word definitions.

Which English dictionary is used?

Results come from ENABLE 2K, the public-domain word list by Alan Beale and M. Cooper. It contains inflections and less common words as well as familiar vocabulary. Searches cover A–Z words from 2 to 15 letters. A missing result can reflect the limits of this dictionary.

ENABLE 2K is not an exact match for Wordfeud’s US or international dictionaries, or for current Scrabble or Words With Friends dictionaries. Some suggestions may be rejected by your game, and some game words may be missing here. Check the dictionary selected in your app.

Using anagrams to practise Wordfeud

Try finding combinations yourself before revealing the results. Learn one unfamiliar word at a time, then look for ways to build it from shorter words.
